Evan's 1st Birthday

Evan and my mom have the same birthday, so naturally we celebrated together.
He got all kinds of outdoor gear from all of his grandparents: a baby pool, a sandbox, and a swing.
We are going to have a GREAT summer!!!

1st time to the zoo!

Evan really enjoyed his first trip to Como Zoo.
We took him on Sunday, May 27th, the nicest day of the long weekend, and it was PACKED!!
I think Evan loved looking at the people more than the animals!

1st Mother's Day!

I spent my first "real" Mother's Day with Ben's family at The Mermaid for lunch, and then my parents came over later for dinner. It's too bad you can't see what Evan's shirt says in this photo........it's his only tribute to me! (it says "Mom" and it looks like one of those tattoos!)

1st Easter

Evan celebrated Easter a few times this year. A week before, we had a nice dinner with Ben's side of the family. Here, Evan is sitting with his grandparents and his great grandparents (Ben's dad's parents). Then on Easter weekend, we went to church service on Saturday afternoon at Eaglebrook in Lino Lakes. On Sunday we went over to Uncle Larry and Aunty Kay's for dinner. Then, when my parents came back from celebrating Easter in Velva, they brought Evan a few holiday goodies as well! He's so spoiled!!

1st time feeding himself.......well, sort of!

So maybe we didn't want to see our baby growing up so quickly, but we finally realized Evan could feed himself his bottle on the floor when he was about 11 months old. Lately, he also has been figuring out how to eat finger foods without choking. He has a quick gag reflex, so he has been practicing for a long time in order to figure out his tongue and how to chew.
