Evan was born on May 29th, 2006 (Memorial Day) at 12:15 am. He weighed 6 pounds and was 19 inches long. I was very happy about that seeing that I had gestational diabetes and my doctor scared me into believing that I was going to have a 10 pound kid. I was in labor for 8 hours and I pushed for 20 minutes. When I got to Unity Hospital in Fridley, I wasn't even sure if my water had broke. The nurses hooked me up to Pitocin, and I went into labor immediately. By the time I was dilated to 4 centimeters, I was
screaming for an epidural. Thank goodness for those! I could actually rest and sleep, and I didn't feel a thing! :) Overall, I didn't actually mind "having" Evan. It was much better than being pregnant for 9 months. This picture is our first family photo, right after Evan came into our world. He didn't even have a name yet!
